Portable Generator Inlets · Interlocks · Transfer Switches

Keep the lights on when the grid doesn’t.

Extension cords through a window aren’t a plan. We install a proper inlet and interlock so your portable generator powers your panel safely, or wire the transfer switch for a standby unit.

Sound familiar?

When to call us.

  • You lose power a few times a year
  • You own a portable generator but run cords through the house
  • You have a sump pump, well pump or medical equipment that can’t go down
  • You’re installing a standby generator

What we do

Generator Hookups

  • 01

    Inlet and interlock kit

A weatherproof inlet outside and an interlock on your panel, so you choose which circuits run and the utility line stays protected.

  • 02

    Standby generator wiring

Transfer switch and the electrical connections for an automatic standby unit (gas and pad by others).

  • 03

    Circuit planning

We help you pick what matters most: heat, fridge, sump, lights, outlets.

How it’s priced

Flat written price for inlet and interlock installs; standby generator wiring is quoted after a quick look at your panel and the generator location.

FAQ

Common questions.

Why not just plug the generator into an outlet?

Backfeeding through an outlet can electrocute utility workers and damage your home. An interlock makes it physically impossible to have both the utility and the generator on at once.

What size generator do I need?

It depends on what you want to run. We’ll go through it with you before you buy.
